A Lia companion concept · PLANNING · Not available today

Your goals.Your concerns.A place to start.

When you have several health needs and care teams, there can be a lot to make sense of.

A future Lia companion would start with what matters to you, then shape its focus and next questions around what you share.

The idea

A starting point that could change with you.

The companion would use what you choose to share to organize the page and draft follow-up questions. You could change the focus whenever it missed what mattered.

1

Begin with your goals and concerns.

It would ask what you hope for and what feels difficult. You would not need to explain everything at once.

2

Find a useful focus together.

Your answers would shape what comes into view and the next question it asks. You could redirect it or skip a question.

3

Prepare for your next conversation.

It would help turn open concerns into questions for your care teams, keeping your account distinct from clinical information.

What adapting could look like

The same goal. Different places to begin.

“More independent” can mean different things. The companion would ask about your concern instead of assuming it knows what you need.

A shared goal

“I want to feel more independent.”

One person's concern

“I lose track of what each care team tells me.”
The focus could become
Making sense of conversations.A place for what you remember, which team it came from, and what is still unclear.
The next question could be
“Which conversation would you like to make sense of first?”

Another person's concern

“I'm worried my care will take over my day.”
The focus could become
Making room for daily life.A place for the routines, responsibilities, and activities you want your care teams to understand.
The next question could be
“What part of your day do you most want to protect?”

Fictional examples of a proposed design. AI would help arrange the information and draft questions. It could misunderstand, so you would be able to review and correct its drafts. It would not settle conflicting medical instructions or decide which treatment you need.

Your control

An experience shaped with you.

These are controls proposed for the future app. This page does not collect or save any answers.

You could change the focus.

You could skip a question, correct a draft, or say that something else matters more. An unanswered question would not be treated as a fact about you.

You would review before sharing.

You would choose selected notes and their intended care-team recipients. How staff access, storage, and changes to sharing would work still needs to be designed.

People would keep the medical decisions.

You and your physician decide together. Lia does not diagnose, clear you for a procedure, obtain your consent to treatment, or choose treatment. Your clinicians keep responsibility for medical judgment.

Your questions would matter, whatever you decide.

The companion would be designed to help you prepare for a conversation along any of these paths.

No Lia service is required. Using one does not enroll you in another.

The companion described here.

The patient's own story, patient companion, and support that carries context across care teams and time are being planned.

This page proposes one way that experience could adapt. Its questions, layouts, and controls are illustrations, not available features or a commitment to launch them.
